Saturday we had the privilege of photographing Kristen and Jared's wedding at the Kanapaha Presbyterian Church in Gainesville. You might recognize them from their engagement session that we posted a few weeks ago. Everything went just about perfect... except that we locked all 3 sets of our keys in the car *Note to self.. keep an extra key in the bag*. That meant we were not able to use the gear that we typically do (light stands, tripod, extra lenses) and had to do with what we had on us. This is one reason we both carry extra stuff in our camera bags, so if something like this happens, we can go on and do our job like nothing happened. None of the guests were aware of our problem and we were able to get some awesome shots. That is one benefit to not having your normal routine.. you get to do different things that you typically wouldn't do.. :)
They had one of the most unique weddings we have been a part of. Its not very often a parent takes a significant part in the ceremony, much less all the parents. The two fathers are both pastors, so they performed the ceremony together. They, along with the mothers, also sang the song as Kristen and Jared were doing the sand ceremony. It was the first time that we have seen all the parents involved. It was awesome!!!
Here are the images! Enjoy!
Both dads performing the ceremony
All their parents singing during the sand ceremony
Now this picture was a special request by Uncle Johnny. The families are very easy going, which allows us to fulfull such a request, without fearing an uprising.. :) I am told that Jared loved Scooby Doo as a child, so here is a tribute to that childhood. Thanks Uncle Johnny!! :)
The centerpieces were simple, yet gorgeous!
The church is old and had a rope connected to the bell in the steeple, so they decided they wanted to ring it..
This is one of my all time favorite images. It was raining throughout the reception, so we decided to incorporate that into one of the images of the day. Here is the result... Yes that is rain reflected from the flash.. Cool huh?? :)
Thanks to everyone who made this wedding a success. Special thanks to Jared's parents who allowed us to catch a ride with them back to their house as we waited on AAA to come unlock the car.
